Tutorial: quilled Christmas star in a petite shadow box

Christmas quilled star

Material: ♥small mdf box  ♥strips of paper of 5mm wide and 30cm long approx  ♥tiny star to decorate the center  ♥ Christmas motif wrapping or scrapbooking paper  ♥decoupage napkin  ♥modge podge  ♥craquelure varnish  ♥white and gold acrylic paint  ♥ribbon


♥paint the entire box with the white acrylic paint, it works best if you give it two layers of paint


♥glue the Christmas motif paper inside the box


 ♥make the curls with the colored paper strips to form your star, get creative on this step!P1050680

♥be amazed at the turning of simple paper strips into beautiful 3D embellishments

♥glue your curls in the box and the ribbon on the edges

♥for a more vintage look apply brown ink to the ribbon

♥decorate the sides with decoupage using the napkins

♥apply craquelure varnish on the decoupage

♥finely coat the craquelure with the gold acrylic paint removing the excess with a dry cloth
